Where Zombie Skills fit
Stupid Never Dies stacks several growth systems on top of one another, and Zombie Skills are the easiest to misfile. They are not OT Gear and they are not the forms obtained through Style Eat.
During a dungeon dive, levelling can present a receipt with a choice of bonuses. Those choices shape the current attempt. Back at the mall, Bessie Burger is the service associated with unlocking Zombie Skills and improving their rarity.
| System | Main source | Role |
|---|---|---|
| Zombie Skills | Level-up choices and Bessie Burger | Shapes the current run and base Zombie Style |
| Style Eat | Enemy cores | Adds temporary monster forms |
| Body Hack | OT Gear installed by Acelino | Changes the equipment taken into a run |
How to choose a skill
Do not read a skill choice in isolation. Ask what the current run is missing.
A survival bonus is more valuable when you are learning an unfamiliar boss. An offensive bonus has more room to work when your movement and parry timing are already stable. A utility effect can be the right answer if it makes the two Styles you carry easier to use together.
The practical rule is simple: solve a current problem before polishing a strength you rarely get to use. That keeps a run coherent instead of turning the receipt screen into a collection of unrelated upgrades.
What rarity means—and what it does not yet tell us
The official site confirms that Bessie can improve Zombie Skill rarity. It does not publish a complete rarity table, exact roll weights or every numerical change between tiers.
Until those values can be captured in-game, “higher rarity is better” is too vague to build a guide around. A lower-tier skill that fixes the run’s real weakness may be more useful than a rarer option that supports a play pattern you are not using.
Plan around the default Zombie Style
Davy always has a baseline identity even when monster forms come and go. Zombie Skills make that foundation matter. This is useful when a preferred Style core has not appeared or when a boss makes one of the stored forms awkward to use.
Build the run so Zombie Style can still perform a job—safe cleanup, meter building, recovery or handling ordinary enemies—rather than treating it as the empty space between transformations.
A first-run checklist
- Read the whole receipt before choosing the highest rarity.
- Decide whether the run needs damage, safety or consistency.
- Avoid taking several bonuses that depend on incompatible situations.
- Review the result at Goyle’s Security Room after the dive.
- Use Bessie Burger upgrades to support a plan, not just to clear notification markers.
For the other layers, continue with Style Eat, Body Hack and the broader build guide.
